In addition to writing the "Technical Topics" column in the Radio Society of Great Britain's journal for fifty years (1958-2008), he also authored various books on electronics and radio and television engineering. In 2006 he was inducted into the CQ Amateur Radio Hall of Fame and made a Member of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II for "Services to Radio Communications".
