"Most of our plans went out the window the day we landed", the team reported on the 20th. "We had to improvise because things have changed since our July survey trip. We ended up with a totally different basing, antenna and operating plan". Read about the trials and tribulations the team had to endure at http://pt0s.com/. Log updates were very difficult to send. The latest, but not final update on Club Log (22 November at 08.45 UTC) includes 40922 QSOs (23649 CW, 15676 SSB, 1597 RTTY) with 13116 unique calls. Logs are sent to LoTW at the same time as they go to the online logsearch, but there is several days of delay at ARRL processing the files. The OQRS for both direct and bureau cards is now up and running on the DXpedition's website. QSL 4L1AN ---> As of 21 November, Buzz NI5DX, is the QSL manager for Joni 4L1AN. They will work on designing a card and getting it printed. This may take up to 6 weeks. NI5DX will not be able to answer any card requests prior to 21 November 2012. [TNX The Golist] QSL ZL2HAM ---> Effective immediately, Buzz NI5DX, is the QSL manager for Rick ZL2HAM (including his contest callsigns ZL1G and ZM1G).Rick has forwarded his past logs, so Buzz will be able to answer any request for a card. The QSL cards should be available to send out in about a month. [TNX The Golist] V26B ---> Team Antigua is saddened to announce that the V26B contest station was totally destroyed by fire on 18 November. Luckily, no one was seriously hurt. The station Owner, Roy V21N, received minor injuries due to smoke inhalation but is OK now. As of now, the future of the station is uncertain. It may be possible to rebuild it, as the antennas and towers were not damaged. However the interior and all equipment, tools and spare parts were totally destroyed. Pictures of the fire can be found at http://n3oc.dyndns.org/v26b/ Also, Mike KA2AEV (QSL manager for V26B) reports that he has not "yet begun to answer any QSL requests that I have received". He does not anticipate being able to do so for "maybe another two weeks" because of his current work commitments ("Hurricane Sandy hit my area hard", he says, and "I work for the local Power Company"). VP8SGK ---> Mike, GM0HCQ (VP8CMH/mm) was able to operate as VP8SGK from King Edward Point, South Georgia on 20 November, from about 17.30 UTC until about 19 UTC. He was QRV on 10, 17 and 20 metres SSB. QSL direct to GM0HCQ (Mike Gloistein, 27 Stormont Way, Scone, Perthshire PH2 6SP, United Kingdom). + SILENT KEYS + Rod Newkirk, W9BRD/VA3ZBB passed away on 19 November. The editor of QST Magazine's "How's DX?" column from 1947 to 1978, he was inducted into both the CQ DX Hall of Fame (1984) and the CQ Hall of Fame (2002). He was credited with coining the term "Elmer" (meaning someone who provides personal guidance and assistance to would-be hams) back in 1971.
